Damon Dotson has toured the midwest for the better part of nine years. Earning a reputation for a great live set, Damon has played top venues in Ames, Cedar Falls, Des Moines, and Iowa City, Iowa; Chicago and Moline, Illinois; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska; and Sioux Falls,South Dakota. Starting out, Dotson played small house parties in living rooms and decks all across Iowa. Soon he generated a following by packing shows at the famed "Peoples" venue on the campus of Iowa State University. Ceasing this momentum, Dotson released a demo CD, which began to take him to new venues throughout the state, such as Des Moines, Iowa City, and Cedar Falls. Dotson then released his first studio album in the spring of 2005. With songs like "Goodnight," "Summer Days," and "Turnaround," he became increasingly known for the "good-time" feeling at his shows. Unpredictable and captivating, his performances are always something to be enjoyed.
In March of 2012, Damon made the move to Nashville, Tennessee. Consistently playing and writing in "Music City" has been a great experience for the singsongwriter! He has held weekly slots in some of the town's best venues, including a performance at the Hard Rock Cafe. Dotson began writing his latest album before moving to Nashville, but is still being influenced by the city, the people, and, of course, the music. "People always say they're excited for their new album and are very proud of it, but I truly am so excited to finish the album and share it with everyone. This album just feels right", says Dotson of his upcoming album. He has already recorded a video for his first single "Tumblin'" that can be seen on YouTube!
Through his tours, Dotson has opened for acts such as B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Matt Nathanson, Edwin McCain, The Gin Blossoms, The Beach Boys, Kenny Loggins, Tristan Prettyman, and Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. Visit Damon's official website to hear samples of his music, view pictures and more!
